In the Health & Safety Manager role you'll report to the Operations Director and will be primarily responsible for overseeing all H&S matters across a number of operational (logistics & warehousing) sites nationwide to enable functional alignment across all business units in line with the corporate health and safety management system and strategy with the ultimate aim of minimising risk, whilst optimising business performance through the desire for continuous improvement.
Specifically you'll be tasked with being the company subject matter expert for all H&S matters.
You'll also be tasked with the implementation of any new relevant regulatory changes that will affect operational activity.
This positionis expected to be home based (head office is in the Midlands), the expectation is you will travel to regional hubs as required for meetings/operational activity.
To be the right person for this Health & Safety Manager role you will need direct experience of working in a multi-site hub, logistics and/or warehousing environment. We also need you to have prior experience of working in a fast paced operational environment.
It's also essential that you've got experience of driving all advice, guidance and delivery of operational health and safety and the environment affecting people across the multi-site business.
It's important that you also have the following:
- Past experience or knowledge around ISO14001
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- The knowledge and ability to run operational compliance audits and make robust recommendations to the SMT on your findings.
We need you to be travel to sites throughout the UK as required (company car provided) and be able to communicate with all levels of colleagues across the business.

The basic salary for the Health & Safety Manager role is in the £40,000 per annum region.
