We're looking for a talented Commercial Underwriter to work for our client.
They want to recruit someone with demonstrable experience of Commercial Lines Underwriting.

The Role:
Reporting to the Underwriting Director you will spend part of your week in the company’s London office, the rest of the week you will work from home, as the Commercial Underwriter you will be primarily responsible supporting technical management and delivering an efficient case underwriting service to brokers. You will ensure that income and profit objectives are achieved with excellent customer service in conjunction with local strategy and financial plan.
In the job you'll be tasked with the following:
- Key contact for referrals across a range of products
- Conduct regular case reviews to ensure that technical procedures and standards are always followed
- Support management of delegated authority arrangements
- Ensure that commercial underwriting guidelines are set and met, monitored and managed to achieve target underwriting margins
- Be actively involved in monitoring account performance and assess profitability against target loss ratio and underwriting costs and expenses
- Dealing with policy and underwriting queries from cover holders
- Good understanding of internal and external environment and role of bodies such as FCA, ABI, etc

The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this Commercial Underwriter role will have relevant experience working with delegated authority schemes.
You'll also need experience of policy development and implementation as well as dealing with insurers and key stakeholders.
In addition, you'll need the following:
- Strong and effective communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Excellent attention to detail
