Position: Data Engineer

Location: London (Hybrid working arrangement with one day a week required working in the central London office)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our growing Insurtech client in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses to support our data-driven business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines to support the collection, storage, and processing of large amounts of data
• Work with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and design data architectures that meet those needs
• Develop and implement data governance policies and best practices
• Use a variety of technologies and tools to manage and process data, including SQL, Python, and big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark
• Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing data validation and testing processes
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure data is easily accessible and can be used for reporting and analysis

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Strong experience with SQL, Python, and big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark
• Experience with data warehousing, data modelling, and ETL processes
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with data governance best practices and data privacy regulations
• Experience with cloud-based data technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus

This is a hybrid working arrangement with one day a week working onsite in the central London office.
