Role: Financial Controller

Location: Stoke-on-Trent region

Salary Guide: circa.£40,000 + Benefits

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to join and lead our clients small Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability
• Control monthly staff commission schemes
• Oversee company payroll and submit to external payroll partner
• Monitor and analyse financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement corrective actions as needed
• Coordinate the preparation of financial statements and reports for senior management and the board of directors
• Manage relationships with external financial institutions and advisors, including banks, auditors, and insurance regulators
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements
• Lead and develop a team of financial professionals

Requirements:

• Previous financial services (or related professional services) industry experience is desirable (specifically experience of the requirements of reporting into the FSA or a similar regulatory body)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in financial software and accounting systems
• Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and accounting standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
