We're looking for a talented and ambitious Purchasing Manager to work for our client.

They want to recruit someone with demonstrable experience of reducing purchasing costs, lead times and stock levels, gained within a manufacturing, engineering or related enviorment.

The Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager and based at the company's Worcestershire site, as the Purchasing Manager you will be primarily responsible for taking a key role in the organisations leadership team, driving purchasing and supplier performance and building a medium to long-term strategic purchasing strategy for a growing engineering/manufacturing organisation.

In the job you'll be tasked with the following:

  • Driving supplier performance
  • Building strong relationships with key vendors
  • Building a pipeline of suppliers to support ongoing production activities

The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for this Purchasing Manager role will have relevant experience of reducing purchasing costs, lead times and stock levels.

You'll also need experience of seeing out new suppliers to re-source materials when required.

Plus, it's vital that you've got experience of undertaking quality audits, working in collaboration with quality colleagues insite the business.

In addition, you'll need the following:

  • Strong communication, organisation, research and analytical skills
  • Supervisory experience, leading a small but busy team
  • Strong negotiation skills, able to drive prices with suppliers


The ideal person for the role will be the following:

  • A hands-on purchasing professional, happiest working collaboratively with colleagues across the business
  • Able to develop a medium to long term strategic buying plan and develop a robust purchasing strategy
  • An individual who knows the importance of building strong relationships with key suppliers
