Logistics Coordinator

Are you a talented Logistics Coordinator, or are you aiming to be one?

Can you demonstrate that you have experience of overseeing that customer schedules/orders are achieved on time and advise customers of any shortages in shipping and find drop dead dates?

If so then you could be perfect for my client.


The Role:

In the Logistics Coordinator role you'll report to the site Plant Manager and will be primarily responsible for managing all aspects of production scheduling to include both customer and supplier schedules, and to ensure that all customer orders are delivered on time. The successful candidate will manage customer/supplier schedules via the ERP system and all aspects of the logistics chain, ensuring all appropriate customer/supplier documents are completed in line with company procedures.

Specific tasks include:

  • Identifying and monitoring changes in customer demand, ensuring no shortfall in shipments to customers
  • Advising customers of any variance with their schedules/orders and advise on potential transport costs on material coming into the plant
  • Liaising with production teams to ensure schedule requirements and urgent demand is expedited
  • Raising despatch notes, book transport and obtain quotes where necessary
  • Import and export administration

This position is based in the company's Wellingborough office, so please ensure that's within a reasonable commutable distance for you before you apply.


The Candidate:

To be the right person for Logistics Coordinator role you will need direct experience of overseeing customer schedules/orders, liaising with all parties to facilitate efficient operations.

We also need you to have prior experience of entering customer schedules/orders onto an ERP system.

It's also essential that you've got experience of working with production teams to ensure schedule requirements and urgent demand is expedited.

It's important that you have experience of working in a materials/logistics environment and excellent communication skills and customer relations.

We need you to be able to work under own initiative and as part of a team and be aware of issues around import and export of goods.

The Package:

The basic salary for the Logistics Co-Ordinator role is between £25,000 - £30,000 per annum dependign on experience.
