Senior Server & Cloud Engineer - Cheshire / Hybrid

Working for a growing business we are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, who would like to get involved in future cloud migrations.

Working in a team of 2 server engineers you will be a Senior Server Engineer the business is growing with multiple migrations due to acquisitions. One of the new acquisitions is all on-prem, so over time will migrate to the cloud. The business is happy to put you through Cloud training, including the AWS Cloud Practitioner course.

The team currently is responsible for the O365 and AD environment and has already implemented MFA and Privileged Access. The role will be initially 75% supporting on-prem environments, but with migrations planned in the future. VMWare, Windows Server, and Citrix skills would be very important

The office hours are 9-5 in Cheshire, with 3 days a week in the office, 2 days from home.

As an experienced senior infrastructure engineer, we’ll be looking for you to bring excellent knowledge of a variety of technologies, including:

• Windows Server
• Active Directory (on-prem and Azure)
• DNS
• Group policy configuration
• Virtualisation technologies (VMWare preferred)
• Public cloud, ideally both AWS and Azure
• PowerShell
• Email platforms including Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange
• Email security, archiving and continuity services
• Authentication (e.g., SAML, OAuth, ADFS & MFA)
• Storage technologies
• Backup solutions

You’ll also have good knowledge of IT security fundamentals, and you must have previous experience of planning and implementing systems and server integrations and migrations.

Our client has plans to double in size over the next 5 years, and the technology function will be one of the driving forces behind that.
