This candidate began his career in IT support in the late 90s, before undertaking a SANS Certification and moving into cyber security. His career has been heavily financial services industry-focussed, and he moved to his current employer over 10 years ago. When he joined the security team was just 4-5 people and he has helped to grow and develop the team to ten times the size today.

He has developed the security architecture side of the business, and has also been involved in security training and mentoring for new staff. He has managed over 20 projects during his career. He has more recently managed the cyber risk and resilience of the business, covering everything from business platforms, and corporate security, to the cloud and the cyber resilience programme supporting the main business platform. He has been instrumental in implementing the 3LOD security risk framework into the business, developing a new IT security risk taxonomy and a new risk methodology (based on FAIR) for the 1LOD practitioners to use. 

He is a proven security manager with a security risk and strategy experience, but also a very strong technical securiity background, especially within security architecture. He wants to use his technical knowledge in his next role but is ideally looking for a Cyber Security Director or Head of Cyber Security role.

With a solid financial services background, another financial services organisation would be a logical move. However, he is open to other industries and is particularly interested in FinTech or a growing business that needs a Cyber Security Manager to help shape and build the security function.
