Role: HEAD OF POLICY, RESEARCH AND STRATEGY
Location: Hybrid (Home/Hemel Hempstead)
Salary: £45k
This is a new post at TDS reporting directly to the Group Chief Executive and working closely with the Executive team, the wider Group Leadership Team and the Group Board. You will have a great opportunity to shape your new role and influence here at TDS. The post holder will play a key role in a number of interrelated areas:
Policy
You will be the owner of a number of key policy areas for TDS [such as the Group Membership Rules, ADR policy and key Operational policies]. You will also shape our approach to Government led consultation papers as well as reviewing new legislation and court cases and considering the implications for our work. You will be expected to establish close links with Government to ensure that our voice in tenancy deposit protection, dispute resolution and redress is heard at the highest levels. You will work closely with policy teams at RICS, Propertymark and the NRLA.
Research
Research will be a key element of your work; understanding the private rented sector and the housebuilding sector. We will want you to research the work of our key competitors in the sectors where we work. We will expect you to share these findings both internally and externally and for TDS to be seen as the "go to " organisation in relation to data about TDS, redress and new homes complaints.
Strategy
You will play a key role in working with the CEO and Executive team in shaping the corporate strategy. It is essential that our strategy is rooted in a thorough understanding of the markets in which we operate. You will have the lead responsibility for drafting the Corporate Plan and liaising as necessary with the Leadership Team and the Board. As such you will need to have a great grasp of the work which we undertake across the Group and to think through the policy and strategic implications of what is happening in the external markets where we operate.
What you need
This is not an easy role. It needs you to get up to speed quickly, be curious, ask lots of interesting questions and then start to shape the answers to help TDS drive its business forward. You need to be a self-starter who is keen to make a name for themselves in TDS and outside.
