Medicinal Chemist

Are you a smart medicinal chemist looking to help alleviate human suffering?

As a Principal Scientist, you will be a key player influencing the portfolio with the benefit of seeing your projects come to fruition.

You will be joining a highly skilled team in a Manchester based life sciences community.

You will be inspirational in identifying new targets and helping to grow the research portfolio.

This is how you will spend your time

  • Managing and leading clever medicinal chemistry scientists
  • Identifying oncology targets and helping drive projects forward
  • Collaborating with other departments (biology, DMPK, etc) and managing CRO experiments
  • Sharpening knowledge on early and late phases (hit-to-lead through to clinical development)
  • Contributing towards patents, publications and conferences

If you have these skills, we are excited to speak with you

This is a leadership role and we expect you to direct complex medicinal chemistry projects. This would suit you if you have a biotech / pharma background working with novel pharmaceuticals. You will enjoy advancing programmes to clinic and have a proven track record of scientific excellence.

Proven medicinal chemistry expertise aside, you will be a people person. You will be confident in decision making and be able to show there’s more than one way to solve a problem.

This biotech has drugs in the clinic and has recently delivered on multiple preclinical deals with big pharma companies.

This is a permanent opportunity and is a result of projects expanding. You will likely be working on other projects other than oncology in the long run.

On offer is an attractive salary and benefits package which can be discussed at early stage of the process.

I am always available to answer calls, emails and DMs and I encourage anyone who feels they are suitable to apply. We love seeing diversity in our applicants and we use specialist technology to ensure there is no gender bias in our adverts.

Every applicant will receive a response. We sometimes make mistakes and miss things from CVs, so you will be given an opportunity to receive feedback and discuss the role in more detail, if you feel necessary.
