Britishvolt, Britain’s foremost investor in battery technologies, has announced the appointment of EVera Recruitment as its sole recruitment partner.

EVera Recruitment, based in Warwickshire, UK, is a dedicated recruitment consultancy for the battery and electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing sector and will be conducting gigaplant recruitment exclusively for Britishvolt.

Britishvolt’s mission is to put the UK at the centre of global battery technologies. It aims to supply the UK’s automotive and energy storage industries with the UK’s first battery gigaplant. Production is due to start in 2023.

Evera Recruitment launched in 2020 in response to the huge growth that is forecast for electric vehicle production in the future. Currently, approximately 10 per cent of car registrations in the UK are hybrid or electric. The UK Government is predicting that by 2040, over 70% of vehicles sold across Europe will be electric, whilst the UK’s battery value chain is estimated to be worth £12 billion by 2025. It is estimated that the industry could create up to 500,000 new jobs in the UK over the next 20 years, with potentially 20,000 of those in the next five years.

Britishvolt’s aim is to establish the UK as the leading force in battery technology. The company believes that the UK is the right place for its investments because of the strength of its automotive and energy industry, its expertise and history of industrial and academic battery research and development.

2023 has been targeted as the start of production in Britain’s first gigaplant It is one of the largest-ever UK industrial investments and will be situated in 80+ hectares of green industrial park, a 200MW solar park, with a production capacity of up to 30 GWh.
