What will you be doing?

You'll be taking the lead on around $50m worth of spend across road transportation (FTL and LTL) services across the US and Mexico. You'll develop and execute procurement strategies to deliver savings as well as optimal service levels. You'll be working closely with the Global Transportation Buyer and Supply Chain Director, developing a clear strategy, leading all contractual and commercial negotiations and managing carrier performance post implementation. The role will cover 6 sites in the US and 2 in Mexico. In time, the role will expand to also take in the likes of Warehousing, Packaging and Sequencing procurement, essentially all supply chain logistics services.

What do you need to bring to the table?

In order to be successful in this role it's expected that you'll be able to demonstrate the majority of the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience procuring/sourcing road transportation services across the US and Mexico
  • Proven at leading high value negotiations covering high volume, complex logistics agreements
  • Excellent knowledge of the various 3PL/4PL transport providers/Carriers
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport and credibility with stakeholders across varying levels of an organization
  • Evidenced background in managing supplier/carrier performance and building excellent working relationships
  • Fluent in English. Additional Spanish would be highly advantageous but isn't essential
