Accountant - Up to £50k
A leading global conglomerate, with a diverse portfolio in Environmental Services, is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant. This key role will be based in Maidenhead and offers hybrid working options. The organisation has a presence in multiple countries across Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The Role:
You will be responsible for ensuring the financial accuracy, integrity, control, timeliness, and efficiency of reporting to the Finance Director and Global Finance. They will identify areas for development within the finance department and suggest and implement process improvements in conjunction with the Financial Reporting Manager.
The role also involves reporting actual results for Profit & Loss, and balance sheet against budget, forecasts, and prior year, and completing UK Group VAT returns ensuring compliance with all HMRC regulations. You will assist with the interim and year-end audit to ensure an efficient process and support the production of statutory accounts to ensure timely filing with Companies House.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with tax queries for timely filing of Corporation Tax returns, supporting the evolution of the internal control function within the UK business, coordinating data for annual insurance renewals, and carrying out balance sheet reconciliation reviews and discussing findings with Management Accountants.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) with post-qualification experience. You should have experience in reporting internal results within a business and supporting audit processes and statutory accounts preparation.
Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build lasting relationships with Finance functions, other departments, and external auditors/advisors.
Attention to detail, advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, and experience with SAP or SAP 4/HANA (desirable) are required. Evidence of process improvements is also desirable.
