Operations Administrator - London - Up to £35k

A dynamic and entrepreneurial commodity trading / supply chain services company are looking for a highly motivated Operations Administrator.

Using an in-house developed system, you will be monitoring day-to-day contract delivery positions. You will get to work with the trucks business obtaining exposure to high-profile counterparties and gaining experience of coordinating with clients and hauliers.

Responsibilities will include:

• Assist with the day-to-day execution of the contracts concluded by front
• Co-ordinating with client base, Hauliers, Surveyors/Inspection shipbrokers, ship owners and agents, and insurance company in fulfilment of contract.
• Supporting with the preparation & maintenance of shipment files in both electronic and paper
• Participate in providing routing information and issuing shipping instructions to ensure deliveries arrive on time and to their correct location.
• Supporting the tracking of goods en-route to their destination ensuring any problems that may arise are resolved to avoid delays.
• Instructing / appointing cargo surveyors at loading and discharging port(s) when
• Assist with negotiating / booking Haulage / freight with freight forwarders and container line

Experience required:

• Understanding truck movements and containers (rail wagon and warehouse movements would be ideal)
• Knowledge of Letter of Credits negotiation and UCP rules
• Understanding of import / export through international seaports and use of shipping terms
