Software Development Manager
Purpose: Working in a growing development team, working primarily on our in-house systems, you will be a technically sound, passionate, proactive and multi-talented senior developer with experience of building out enterprise-grade solutions.
Responsible for presenting ideas for system improvements, including the review and maintenance of current software, ensuring the software created is fit for purpose. Producing detailed specifications and writing the programme codes, rounding off with writing documentation and operating manuals.
To take the lead and have a deep understanding of current projects to ensure the system user and business requirements are met effectively and in a timely manner
Summary of Main Responsibilities and Activities
● Work with the engineering teams and product managers to ideate software solutions and engaging visual designs
● Design innovative client-side and server-side architecture
● Help mentor junior staff
● Design, build and maintain efficient, useable, and reliable front end applications
● Develop product features with minimal supervision.
● Turn prototypes into production-ready code
● Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design
● Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
● Help maintain code quality, organisation and automation
● Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
● Work with Engineering and Capability Delivery to improve software
Skills Requirements
● Javascript, HTML or CSS knowledge
● Full Stack Developer in Javascript - React Js and react Native
● Experience in My SQL
● Experience of microservice development and API development.
● Demonstrable ability to design and deliver complex systems at scale.
● Demonstrable passion for technology e.g. personal projects, open-source involvement
● Redux
● TypeScript
● Knowledge of modern web app build systems, server stacks, TDD
● Assist with the transitioning from the existing codebase to React and TypeScript
● Assist with React-based applications
● Improve usability and performance
Desirable
● Experience of 4-5 years
● Able to present new ideas and methods using your own initiative in order to maximise the level of services and innovations
● Able to meet tight deadlines, working under pressure
