Onsite IT Infrastructure Engineer

No more tied to a desk, in this role you’ll spend around half of your time out on customer sites installing and configuring hardware (laptops/desktops) and setting up networks and servers. This role is varied, hands-on and autonomous!

The systems you implement will be designed and built by your team, and following a period when you’ll shadow a Senior Engineer, you’ll be left to go out on your own and deploy infrastructure for customers of up to 500 users across multiple sites.

Now, this role is for a new MSP, based out of Belper in Derbyshire, an organisation scaling faster than any other and doing things differently, and we think they’ll get you to where you want to be just that little bit faster.

They’re a tightly-knit team, passionate and supportive. There are no ivory towers or closed boardroom doors. The owners know everyone's names, in fact, they’re in all the appraisals, and the best bit is that their success hinges on you and how fast you can develop your technical skills and knowledge and get better.

With that in mind, every week you’ll receive technical training, you’ll work towards Microsoft / cyber certifications and be completely surrounded by teammates, that are all doing the same.

So, let's talk about the tech for a minute and your skill levels:

Right off the bat, we need people with a minimum of 36 months of industry experience. If you’re resetting passwords and adding users, taking and escalating calls, following scripts and moving things to other teams then you’re probably not quite ready.

We need an engineer that is used to systems administrator levels of access and rolling out kit at a relatively advanced level. Typically 2nd / 3rd line level. We need a good broad understanding of desktop os / serverside active directory administration, M365 and an understanding of networking, patching and routing. We also need someone who is able to document systems, changings and configurations methodically and meticulously.

Once the installation is complete, the team back at HQ will use a combination of Microsoft Intune, with a state-of-the-art professional services platform (PSA), and a unified remote monitoring tool (RMM) to ensure they provide best-in-class remote support. However, you will, of course, be required to deal with technical issues onsite, if things cannot be resolved.

As such you will be the brand ambassador, and be the face of this organisation onsite, so it’s essential that you feel comfortable working within a customer-facing role.

So why consider this role?

They understand that your expertise and hard work deserve recognition. That's why they offer an industry-leading compensation package, ensuring that you are fairly rewarded for your exceptional skills and knowledge.
