Role and Responsibilities:
As the Production Planning and CI Team Leader, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and optimisation of our manufacturing processes. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Supervision and Leadership: Managing and guiding a small planning team, fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
2. Continuous Improvement (CI): Actively participating in the CI function across our manufacturing business, with a strong focus on optimizing Right First Time (RFT) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metrics.
3. Production Planning: Creating daily, weekly, and monthly plans for our Manufacturing site, utilizing our Microsoft BC system and offline tools to ensure timely and efficient production schedules.
4. Performance Monitoring: Ensuring the planning team adheres to departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as planned versus actual output and delivery performance.
5. Production Meetings: Running the weekly production meeting with team leaders and senior stakeholders to discuss progress, challenges, and potential improvements.
6. Collaboration: Working closely with Manufacturing team leaders, attending daily "walk the floor" meetings to address concerns and foster a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
7. Adaptability: Being responsive to manufacturing challenges and effectively communicating them to the wider team to facilitate timely solutions.
8. Continuous Improvement Focus Groups: Leading CI focus groups in close collaboration with the Engineering Director and his team to identify and implement process enhancements.
Candidate Experience and Skill Requirements:
We are looking for an ambitious and motivated individual with the following qualifications and attributes:
Manufacturing and Machining Experience: A solid background in manufacturing and machining processes, understanding the complexities of production planning in this industry.
Management Aspirations: The ideal candidate should have a desire to progress into a management role within the next 3 years, as this position is part of our succession planning for an Operations Manager role.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated experience in leading teams, inspiring and motivating individuals to achieve collective goals.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
CI Mindset: A passion for continuous improvement, constantly seeking opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams, stakeholders, and the wider organization.
