IT Infrastructure Engineer - Cyber Sec

Do you love music events, gigs and shows? How would you like to run the IT systems and infrastructure in one of the biggest stadium venues in the world?

My client is looking to hire an IT Infrastructure Engineer who is both cybersecurity aware, but also passionate about doubling down on cyber by building out their skills, accreditations and capabilities with cyber essentials and other cyber methodologies and frameworks.

Skills you’ll need to have before we go any further: Desktop / Server / Cisco WAN - routing and switching, firewalls. We also need someone who is very much able to work on solo projects, and installs and handle complex issues as a final escalation point, so we’re looking for someone relatively senior and confident at a 3rd line level.

So what’s your mission?

As our Senior IT Engineer, you will embark on a thrilling journey to fortify all technology infrastructure. This will include all BAU, commercial and hospitality systems and infrastructure, along with project-related engineering, needed for big gigs and events, where there will be an increase in endpoints, platforms and audio-visual technologies.

Don’t worry though, you wont walk this path alone; youll collaborate closely with a small but talented team who will craft, execute, and maintain robust infrastructure solutions and security measures.

In your role, youll wear many hats and take ownership of IT security across brands and locations. Heres what youll be up to:

  • Architect & Fortify: Youll design, build, and nurture our IT security and infrastructure. This includes everything from hardware and software to networks and servers.

  • Guard & Defend: Craft strategies, policies, and procedures that shield our systems, networks, and data from potential threats and unauthorized access.

  • Hunt & Secure: Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to uncover and conquer vulnerabilities in our infrastructure and applications.

  • Watch & Respond: Monitor our security systems, logs, and alerts to swiftly detect and thwart security incidents.

  • Collaborate & Create: Partner with other departments to create secure architectures for new systems and applications, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulations.

  • Analyse & Improve: Investigate security incidents, analyze forensics, and provide recommendations for swift resolution and future prevention.

  • Stay Ahead: Keep yourself updated on the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to proactively safeguard against potential risks.

  • Inspect & Verify: Review third-party vendors and partners to ensure they meet our security standards and contractual obligations.

  • Empower & Educate: Share your technical wisdom with internal teams, guiding them on security test practices, secure coding, and data protection.

  • Prepare & Protect: Develop and maintain incident response plans, disaster recovery procedures, and business continuity strategies.

  • Oversee & Operate: Manage the day-to-day operations of our core security components, from networks to applications.

  • Solve and innovate: Troubleshoot complex issues related to network connectivity, system performance, security, and data integrity.

  • Lead & Collaborate: Assist the Head of IT in managing IT projects from start to finish, including resource allocation and documentation.

  • Innovate & Optimize: Recommend cutting-edge technologies and solutions to boost system performance and efficiency.

  • Pioneer & Learn: Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging tech, seeking opportunities to enhance our IT infrastructure and processes.

  • Teach & Elevate: Mentor junior IT staff, nurturing a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

  • Stay Current: Maintain meticulous patching and updating schedules for all systems and services.

  • Comply & Secure: Ensure we meet PCI, Data Protection regulations, and Cyber Essentials standards.

  • Support & Excel: Assist the Governance and Compliance Manager with GDPR and other compliance initiatives.

  • Lead & Deliver: Manage IT Services workload, acting as a technical escalation point and ensuring timely completion of helpdesk tickets and projects.

  • Assist & Engage: Provide day-to-day IT support to our users and offer technical event setup and support.
