Principal Material & Process Engineer responsible for the day to day running of the Engineering Standards Dept. within a complex Aerospace / Defence organisation - Number One in its sector Globally.
Effective workload planning, generation of technical documents and corresponding reports, material reviews and presentations is required to support the control of materials and processes. To work effectively with internal and external customers to achieve the optimum solution through in-depth consultation with all business stakeholders.
Training and mentoring of junior personnel will be required, dependant on your skills and experience.
Guidance and input to compilation of all new Process Specifications (PSs), maintenance of existing PS’s and Peer Review and approval of new and revised PS’s.
Provide technical support on process related queries from both internal and external sources (customers, vendors, subcontractors). This requires knowledge of the subject matters covered by Internal Process Specifications or similar.

An underpinning knowledge of material science and engineering, with respect to commonly used materials within the aerospace industry. These include but are not limited to; aluminium alloys (mainly 2000 & 7000 series), CRES (mainly austenitic and PH), Steel, Copper and copper alloys.
General knowledge and experience of working within US MIL STD / UK Def. Stan.
General knowledge of heat treatment processes, equipment, and materials.
Degree within Engineering or Science degree Accredited by IMechE, RAeS or IET
