Foobar Recruitment are excited to be partnered with a high-growth company in the medical and consumer sectors. Year on year growth has been both strong and stable, with a broad client base that is well balanced across multiple niches. We are now working to expand their software team significantly. As such we are looking for 3 people who can operate at the highest levels of seniority, reporting into the directors, and creating the structure required to grow the teams below them.
The role itself could fall into two different categories of person (see requirements below), but it is broad and much more than just managing teams. You will also be working with the director on the strategies required to continue that growth. You will be working directly with clients, extracting requirements at the earliest stages, and taking those requirements through to the final delivery. You will be deciding on the tech stacks within the team, and leaning on modern tools and best practices where required.
Technically - We need someone who understands embedded software, the entire SDLC, how it all pieces together, how tools and methodologies help the process, why codes and standards are beneficial and on a more granular level an understanding of embedded systems and microcontrollers, and how the software works together with and complements electronics and even mechanical aspects of the engineering. You will almost certainly have come from a background in embedded software, and devices, although we are happy to take applications from people outside of this.
The future is also broad and bright! As the expansion continues, so will the software teams' involvement in other areas of the software world. With applications that work with the devices, across mobile, desktop, and web, through to standalone development projects that will complement the existing work, but not be directly linked to it. This is currently a small part of our client's work, but it is a medium to long-term growth area. You won't necessarily be required to grow in to this area yourself, but our client want at least some of the new hires at management level to be excited by this opportunity to broaden their own horizons.
