Principal Embedded Software Engineer

Foobar Recruitment have partnered on an exclusive basis with one of the most exciting companies in Cambridge right now. Having seen significant growth over 2020, our client are expanding the team further with the hire of 2 Principal Embedded Software Engineers.

Our client work in both the medical and consumer product markets.

A varied role, the principal software engineer will be responsible for leading projects, to hands on software engineering. As a key technical expert in the team they will also join the commercial teams at proposals stage through to delivering, working with customers on both understanding their requirements and explaining how they intend to tackle the problems. A desire to work in a commerical environment is a must.

Requirement for application:

  • Embedded C
  • Some exposure to other languages, such as Python, C++, C#, mobile development or application development.
  • Microcontrollers
  • A desire to push yourself to progress your skills technically and commercially
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A desire to work in a commercial environment

Beneficial but not required:

  • Exposure to medical software
  • Linux - whether that is development on Linux platforms, kernel drivers, or even sysadmin
  • Real-time operating systems
  • Ability to create well-documented software
