Are you a senior Java developer looking to work on problems at scale? As a Senior Java developer in this role you will use a mix of Java and Go to help build a GCP based platform that deals with millions of flights and hotels. The combinations of which can bubble up to billions of pairings. The company are a hugely profitable endeavour and are dealing with real world problems around storing and searching across large data sets. Below are some of the challenges.

• The platform delivers a 250-millisecond latency for 95% of their users.

• Using event sourcing to track customer bookings in real time and make sure they always have the latest updates. Think managing booking and refunds in a global pandemic

• The team are also in the middle of introducing a distributed data mesh to improve data quality.

• Work closely with the Data Science team using statistical methods to drive technical decision making.

• The travel market moves rapidly and due to a consistently high level of traffic new products can be quickly trialled.
