Rosette Sous Chef

My client is looking for a Sous Chef to join their team at this fantastic, yet relaxed, 2 AA Rosette restaurant. This is a great opportunity to join a team of passionate people with genuine progression opportunities.

This role is great for an experience Sous Chef looking for a change, a Junior Sous looking to step up, or a Head Chef looking to step back.

You will be working alongside the head chef to manage daily kitchen activities, including overseeing staff, aiding with menu preparation, ensuring food quality and freshness, and monitoring ordering and stocking. Provides meal quality and consistency by following designated recipes.

Your main duties include:
• Leading the kitchen team in the Head chef's absence
• Provides guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
• Overseeing and organising kitchen stock and ingredients
• Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance
• Keeping cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours
• Hiring and training new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards
• Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimising waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns
• Supervising all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards
• Working with the head chef to maintain kitchen organisation, staff ability, and training opportunities
• Verifying that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
• Assisting head chef with menu creation
• Coordinating with the restaurant management team on supply ordering, budget, and kitchen efficiency and staffing
