Senior Java Developer - SaaS

Want to work on an event driven SaaS platform? The application serves as a proxy between millions of customers and the content they are looking to browse. It enables the global media organisations to provide highly customisable content to their customers but has to do so at no cost to the performance of their websites. I am looking for a 5th Java developer to join a team of senior Java developers looking to add new features to the core platform.

If you like event driven systems, solving for scale, dealing with performance issues then this role could be just the challenge you want to get stuck into. Joining a small team of self-professed geeks looking to tackle some knotty problems such as;

  • Building new back-end platform features, which might involve transaction logging, configuration improvements (such as versioning, exception handling, or mapping).

  • Improving and fleshing out the microservices architecture.

  • Interfacing with and managing databases and AWS features you’ll use a mixture of DynamoDB and Aurora. Your main focus in this area will be to improve data extraction and connection pools.

  • to investigate potential performance issues and run experiments to figure out ways to improve performance. This will form an important part of your role, covering work such as improving our automated alert systems and checking for issues in production that could be holding the system up.

  • DevOps – there is a DevOps engineer attached to the platform team but all the developers here take responsibility for their own deployment. You will be working across the full CI/CD environment using Docker Images, Amazon Elastic Container with BitBucket for source control and deployment to AWS.

Sound like the kind of stuff you would like to work on?

Get in touch. A CV is great if you have one but I am equally happy to set up a conversation based on a short description of your current role or a PDF of your LinkedIn profile.
