We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to work for a bio-technology start-up in South Yorkshire. Established in 2020, they are a venture-backed company, building autonomous, smart machines for complex cellular bio-production.
If you can demonstrate experience in the Mechanical Design of electro-mechanical devices or automated systems then we'd love to see your CV.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, building, testing and developing novel bio-production systems. You will be directly involved in the entire product development cycle, from understanding user requirements to delivering prototypes and ultimately manufacturable designs
- Overseeing engineering projects (mechanical, electrical and software) including technical progress and regulatory compliance
- Developing mechanical and technical solutions, suggesting new directions for R&D projects and collaborating with the biology team to facilitate interdisciplinary innovation
- Prototyping designs to rapidly test concepts, and coordinate suppliers, manufacturing partners and consultants
Requirements:
Experience in:
-Mechanical Design of electro-mechanical products and automated systems
- R&D and rapid prototyping (including 3d printing, thermoforming, CNC/machining)
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously and keeping accurate design records for regulatory compliance (e.g. ISO and CE marking)
- A BEng or MEng in mechanical engineering, bioengineering, aerospace or similar
- A strong track record in the delivery of projects for laboratory, scientific and/or advanced manufacturing applications
- 3D CAD skills, ideally Solidworks
The Package:
- Basic salary: £40,000 - £55,000 per annum
