An advanced engineering company is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary automation projects and products. This is a unique opportunity to manage high-tech projects that push the boundaries of engineering, working with industry leaders in the industrial and life science sectors.

Core Role Description

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of complex, multi-disciplinary projects. From order acceptance to client handover, you will manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest technical and quality standards. You will work alongside teams of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, ensuring all technical solutions meet customer specifications and commercial targets..

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Full Project Lifecycle Management – Oversee all phases of project delivery, from initial planning through to design, manufacture, testing, and final client handover.
  • Client Liaison – Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
  • Collaboration – work alongside small, multi-disciplinary teams of design engineers to deliver solutions on time and within budget.

What You’ll Need

  • Strong client-facing and communication skills, with a proven ability to thrive under pressure and deliver results.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel (UK, Europe, and USA) as required for project delivery and client meetings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.

Desirable

  • Proven ability to manage projects up to £2M in value, delivering them on time, to specification, and within budget.
  • Experience in developing technical documentation and specifications.
  • Ability to generate proposal cost estimates and quotations.
  • Knowledge of GAMP and formal project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
