Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys engaging directly with customers? Do you have experience within the automation, laboratory, pharmaceutical, or aerospace industries?

We're seeking a Lead Applications Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading Systems Integrator based in Cheshire. For nearly 30 years, this company has provided cutting-edge robotic and automation solutions to some of the world's most regulated industries.

The main purpose of this role is to offer both pre and post-sales support to the sales team, enabling them to deliver cost-effective engineering solutions that meet their clients' needs. This role holds a crucial position within the sales process, requiring a keen understanding of both commercial and technical aspects to deliver technically complex, innovative and competitive proposals. Effective communication skills are essential in comprehending the customers' cost, quality, and time constraints, and then effectively conveying these requirements to the broader bid team.

To be considered for this role, you should have experience in Mechanical Design Engineering within an R&D, automation, pharmaceutical or aerospace environment. You will have an HND/Degree (or equivalent) and experience working within a multi-discipline team consisting of Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, Software Engineers and Project Managers. You will have a track record for innovative, conceptual Mechanical Design and strong customer-facing skills.
