Automation Mechanical Design Engineer

We are partnering with a global manufacturing company that is at the forefront of innovation in automation. This organisation is seeking a Automation Mechanical Design Engineer to join their talented team. The company specialises in cutting-edge automation projects that span from design to implementation, working with advanced technologies such as 3D CAD, industrial robots, Cobots, and 3D printing.

The Role:

As an Automation Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and optimizing production lines and equipment. Your contributions will be crucial for the development of next-generation manufacturing solutions, used not only in the UK but also across the company's global production facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed designs using CAD software, ensuring designs are both practical and efficient.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis to ensure design feasibility and optimization.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for designs, modifications, and project progress.
  • Prepare project costings, including bill of materials.
  • Perform testing and validation to ensure performance and reliability of designs.
  • Provide support and troubleshoot design changes during build and commissioning stages.
  • Support existing equipment, both within the company’s facility and at other group locations.

The Ideal Candidate:

Education & Experience:

  • Degree-level education (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in equipment design and development, particularly in automation.
  • Strong proficiency in using 3D CAD software.
  • A good understanding of industrial automation and manufacturing processes.

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:15 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:15 PM (mainly every other Friday)
