Business Development Executive

My client are leaders in the international transportation industry and are looking for an experienced Field Sales & Account Manager to join their successful and close-knit team. The role does not require you to have specific logistics experience, however it is essential for you to have proven business development and account management experience.

This is a very competitive industry, so you’ll need to be tenacious, have outstanding customer service skills and ensure that you continuously uphold the values and culture the company work so hard to achieve.

Within this industry there are no quick wins, and you will need to nurture and grow strong relationships with your prospects, working together as a team to convert and then offer excellent account management once on board. A consultative approach to the sales process is essential and you will offer this by becoming an industry expert and receiving the best training possible.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assess market trends and communicate these effectively
  • Actively engage in closing large opportunities with the sales team
  • Create and manage the sales budget
  • Lead weekly sales meetings
  • Manage CRM activity
  • Drive performance to meet revenue expectations
  • Monthly pipeline reviews with each sales executive
  • Review all bids that are to be submitted to a customer on behalf of your district
  • Joint sales visits (currently being held online)
  • Weekly coaching sessions
  • Quarterly performance reviews

Person Specification:

  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Minimum of 5 years direct sales experience
  • Experience of working with and hitting KPI requirements
  • Contract negotiation experience
  • Be structured and organised
  • Be proficient in MS Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

To be considered for this role you must have previous experience of selling multi-platform products and this can be from any competitive industry although international logistics is desirable.

The basic salary for this position will be Circa £35 - £40k with an uncapped OTE. There is huge earning potential in this role as you will continue to make money as the clients grow, in addition to the new business converted. You will need to learn the industry so the remuneration will be relative to this and as such will grow with years of service.

My client is based in South London and your patch will be decided once you join. You will be travelling to prebooked client meetings approximately 3 days per week you will then work a mix of remote/ office based in between.

A car allowance of £4,500 per year is given and mileage can be claimed back.
