Business Development Executive

LV Recruitment are pleased to be supporting a leading logistics business with their recruitment of a Business Development Executive to join their successful and close-knit team. The role does not require you to have specific logistics experience, however it is essential for you to have proven business development and account management experience.

This is a very competitive industry, so you’ll need to be tenacious, have outstanding customer service skills and ensure that you continuously uphold the values and culture the company work so hard to achieve.

Within this industry there are no quick wins, and you will need to nurture and grow strong relationships with your prospects, working together as a team to convert and then offer excellent account management once on board.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assess market trends and communicate these effectively
  • Actively engage in closing large opportunities with the sales team
  • Create and manage the sales budget
  • Lead weekly sales meetings
  • Manage CRM activity
  • Drive performance to meet revenue expectations
  • Monthly pipeline reviews with each sales executive
  • Review all bids that are to be submitted to a customer on behalf of your district
  • Joint sales visits (currently being held online)
  • Weekly coaching sessions
  • Quarterly performance reviews

Person Specification:

  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Minimum of 5 years direct sales experience
  • Experience of working with and hitting KPI requirements
  • Contract negotiation experience
  • Be structured and organised
  • Be proficient in MS Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

To be considered for this role you must have previous experience of selling multi-platform products and understand the process of this type of sales.

In return, you will receive excellent benefits and commission. The basic salary for this position will be Circa £35k with an OTE of Circa £50k. This will likely take 12 months+ to achieve due to the nature of the sales process and pipeline. There is no cap to this commission scheme and therefore the earning potential is huge.

The role is based near Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland and whilst currently there is reduced staff in the office, the long-term plan is to be fully operational onsite therefore this is not a remote position.
