Site Manager
To manage all site activities and the associated sub-contract workforce. Responsible for Health and safety, Quality, Progress, Logistics & House keeping.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to the company Health & Safety policy, and ensure full compliance with Health & Safety standards and regulations.
- Site set-up.
- Responsible for ensuring all works on site are undertaken in accordance with safe working practices and current Health and Safety legislation, being constantly vigilant to any actual or potential hazards, and encouraging vigilance among all site personnel.
- Ensuring all works are covered by an approved set of RAMs and that all pre-start checks are complete and up to date.
- Preparing method statements and risk assessments in accordance with an agreed programme, ensuring that statements are changed and updated when activities change on site.
- Checking competency of site labour (With assistance from H&S manager where required) and reporting any shortfalls to the project manager.
- Health & Safety monitoring and implementation of safety plans, toolbox talks etc…
- To carry out a Site specific induction to all operatives employed for site operations.
- Ensuring that installers maintain relevant registers, i.e., harness registers, lifting equipment, access equipment etc.
- Ensure all plant and equipment is looked after and respected by sub-contractors and that it is promptly off hired when not in use.
- Co-ordinating & communicating all site activities with all relevant stakeholders.
- Working in conjunction with the project manager take an active role in chasing and organising material delivery to site.
- Receive materials on-site ensuring:
- Paperwork is returned to head office.
- Goods are stored safely, checked for correctness and any issues/shortfalls are reported.
- Handover of goods to installer.
- Working in conjunction with our sub-contract supply chain ensure pre-start checks of the work areas are carried out in advance of works starting. Notifying client in writing, and good time, what is required from them to enable our works to be carried out.
- Obtain hand over certs from the client prior to starting works.
- Complete weekly reports regularly and on time, including monitoring works against programme, photos, and problems/delays.
- Communication with the client on progress, notifying them of any actual/foreseeable delays.
- Reviewing drawings/information and problem solving on site.
- Managing the site quality and handover process in accordance with the project quality plan.
- Monitoring and maintaining progress to Programme. Identify risks and opportunities in terms of programme and communicate to the project manager.
- Identifying and communicating variations to the project manager.
