PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Ideally you will have a senior technical background such as a drawing/design office within the façade/construction sector. A proven track record in management which can be demonstrated.

• Be computer literate. Work, Excel and Outlook.
• The use of CAD software 2D minimum. Revit would be an advantage but not essential. Any 3d Cad backgrounds would be considered to be advantage.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to communicate at all levels from stop floor operatives through to board level.
• To demonstrate a background in product development and delivery.

Role and Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for the development side of department with specific emphasis on product development for all product elements i.e. windows, doors and curtain walling.
• To deliver excellent technical support to customers, prospects, partners and colleagues.
• To prepare project specific product development, which will include base design principles all the way through to final design.
• Project management of product developments. This will include time line management.
• Direct contact and management of the UK supply chain including extruder’s ironmongery Suppliers etc.
• To attend meetings, sites and customers as necessary.
• To liaise with Head Office as and when required to ensure development principles and protocols are followed and maintained.
• To liaise with industry watchdogs, trade associations and advisory bodies to ensure we maintain product relevance, compliance and competitive advantage.
• To ensure cost effective solutions every time. Advice, assist and promote quality assurance at all times.
• To report on a regular basis to the Director of Technical Services on the status of product development and its workload.
