Database Engineer / DBE - Cloud

An award-winning, global Tech brand in Manchester are looking for a talented Database Engineer to join their Cloud Ops team.

This is an award-winning technology employer who enjoy tens of millions of cross-platform visits every single month. Therefore, the smooth management of their diverse range of databases is absolutely imperative and that's where you come in.

We are looking for an experienced Database specialist; you could be a Database Engineer (DBE), Data Engineer or DBA, with experience across all sorts of technologies, but most importantly you'll have in-depth experience managing database management systems, ideally within larger businesses.

Bonus points if these have been based in the cloud - AWS, Azure or GCP - but experience with the following stack would stand you in good stead:

• Databases: Cloud SQL (Postgres MySQL), SQLServer (Azure), MongoDB Atlas.
• SQL, MongoDB Query Language, BASH scripting.
• IaC (terraform)
• Database Monitoring tools, which could include Prometheus, Grafana, PGAnalyze.

Your role will be to ensure the ongoing availability and efficient management of their database environments - based on various platforms including MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB and SQL Server and all hosted in the cloud (CloudSQL, GCP & Azure).

Also, you'll act as a database subject-matter-expert to their Engineering teams, advising and ensuring optimum utilisation across the Squads, so strong communication and interpersonal skills is a huge plus here.
