Devops Engineer (Remote) - AWS

Devops Engineer (Remote) - AWS | Ecommerce

Remote (must be UK based)

£70k - £80k Share options Benefits.

We are excited to be working on this brand-new vacancy for a Devops Engineer; a newly-created role for an established technology startup within the ecommerce industry.

A self-funded and successful business, they are building a UK-based Development team as part of the next stage of growth, which is to scale-up an innovative SaaS platform from the ground-up. The next phase is to scale their DevOps environment and cloud infrastructure, on AWS.

With the core software engineering team in place, they are now looking for their first DevOps hire to deliver this cloud strategy.

It's a genuine greenfield role; they are at the starting point with their DevOps & CI/CD environment and this opportunity therefore offers full autonomy for a DevOps specialist who wants to build something exciting, from scratch.

If you an experienced DevOps Engineer who is bored maintaining an established infrastructure - maybe within a larger ecommerce business - then this could be your calling. In conjunction with the Developers and Testers, you'll be responsible for the design, integration and management of their build and release system and build something you can be proud of.

With no UK office, this is also a fully remote role. The team enjoy and thrive working this way, but do meet up occasionally for socials and collaboration sessions. Most of the team are based in the Midlands and North West.

We are interested in hearing from candidates with the following profile:

  • An experienced Devops Engineer with a background managing web based applications
  • Confident being responsible for the design, integration and management of a cloud infrastructure to support tens of thousands of users.
  • Passionate about DevOps / WebOps best practice and a follower of industry trends.
  • Expertise in AWS and the latest Cloud / Serverless solutions - industry certifications advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge on CI / CD and Test Automation tools
  • Knowledge on secure application and cloud network architecture
  • Containerisation experience - Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Scripting skills within Windows and Linux environments - with Powershell, Bash or similar.
  • An interest in ecommerce and SaaS.
