We are working with a dynamic, growing energy company who are developing a business unit that make investments into energy storage and renewable generation assets.

This role would suit an individual who wants to work in an entrepreneurial environment, growing a team within a brand new division, with the backing of a business of around 200 people.

Overview

We are looking for a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and tenacious Commercial Manager with solid expertise in the storage and renewable assets space and an impressive track record. You will report to the Head of Asset Investment and work together with the power team. You will hold a central role in building my clients physical assets business case and grow its portfolio of sites to help turn them into the number one renewables business in the energy markets.

You will be responsible to:

  • Build-up the companies asset investment model for batteries (and in due time renewable assets) in the UK but also internationally. Models will have to be bankable and pass investment banks/funds due diligence
  • Benefitting from the power’s team experience as well as external consultants, you will maintain the comapnies views on future revenues streams’ forecasts
  • Gather intelligence to centralise all assumptions (capex, opex, technical performance, etc.) for the investment and valuation models
  • Lead the valuations of projects that comapny considers acquiring either project rights (at different stages of developments) or fully operational sites
  • Be part of the negotiation team for the acquisition or disposal of projects
  • Develop the companies experience in PPA terms, assessment, valuation and negotiate agreements with potential off-takers
  • Work with the CFO to raise eventual debts on projects and provide business information to the finance team
  • Assess the investment risks in renewable power assets and implement workable risk mitigation strategies

Requirements:

  • A strong commercial mindset, able to make investment recommendations and understand the impact on potential investments
  • Experience in batteries revenue streams and renewable assets PPAs
  • Previous experience in valuation, acquisition or disposal of renewables or battery assets
  • A good understanding of renewable assets life from development phase, transaction, contracting, construction all the way to commercial operation.
  • A self-starter with tenacity, initiative, and a willingness to commit to delivering the required results
  • Excellent commercial modelling skills and negotiation acumen to identify and resilience to close deals
