Senior Business Development Manager

Remote/ Hybrid

Our client are a marketing leading name in multi-channel customer communications. They have a consultative approach to customer comms offering clients a full suite of digital services and transformation but still providing conventional transactional mail products.

They are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Business Development Manager, with a strong background of delivering new business revenue, to own & drive their strategy in the market.

This is a new and exciting role that has arisen due to increased demand and business growth within the Computershare Communication Services (CCS) team, who provide integrated customer communication solutions worldwide.

Main Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the HO Sales and Solutions, the Senior BDM will hold primarily responsibility for achieving new business sales targets predominantly within their three vertical markets Utilities, Wealth, Finance. Leading with a consultative approach you will also be a problem solver and will be able to understand how to create compelling propositions.

Working closely with the local solutions & key account teams you will help to define the strategy for expanding their footprint & the product development roadmap they need to help us stay at the front of the market.

Other Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver against target

For each financial year a target will be set for new business growth with new logos. The role holder will drive activity to achieve or exceed this target

  • Grow a pipeline

Grow a pipeline of at least 3 x new business opportunities, through a mixture of leads provided and self-generated leads

  • Lead and understand a consultative sales approach

Truly understand their go to market strategy of leading with a consultative approach, becoming a problem solver rather than a salesperson. Work with solutions manager to build on current solution and product portfolio to develop new business within their propositions

  • Creation of compelling propositions

Lead the proposition development for the chosen vertical. Be part of the global team for that proposition

  • Follow Sales Processes

Follow the sales process; manage CRM from conversation to closing the deal

  • Understand their Verticals

Have experience selling into one of their key verticals (Utilities, Wealth or Finance)

  • Responsible for the initial Legal Contract

Ensure that a legal contract is in place with any new business accounts

  • Demonstrate full knowledge and understanding of the account commercials

For each new business win understands the drivers / levers for margin

Skills, Experience & Competencies

They’re looking for significant proven commercial ability of driving effective sales and revenue growth, preferably from a Financial Services, Wealth, Insurance and or Utilities or similar sector, in a medium to large organisation, to develop new business wins to ensure that new business targets are achieve.

You’ll have strong experience from a senior customer service or engagement role and be able to demonstrate success of delivering excellent customer service-related outcomes in a business to business/ to consumer environment, through a consultative sales approach.

We need a people person for this role, whose comfortable dealing with all levels of stakeholders, along with a natural aptitude for building and managing relationships. Self-sufficient in creating leads and knowledgeable in being able to close new business opportunities.
