RM Recruit Ltd are working in partnership with our Staffordshire based Charity client who are on the lookout for a Head of Finance to join them on a permanent basis.

The Head of Finance plays a critical role in managing the financial operations of the organisation and requires a skilled financial professional with a strong background in finance and accounting, as well as a passion for making a positive impact in the charity sector. The Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, providing strategic financial guidance, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and managing a team.

Main duties include:

  • Preparing management accounts incuding providing full commentary to Board and SLT
  • Leading on all month end duties
  • Managing the subsidary of the organisaiton in preparation of accounts, exemptions etc.
  • Leading the budgeting and forecasts for the annual budget
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure effective financial management
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to ensure the organisation's financial sustainability and long-term growth.

Oversee cash flow management, investment strategies, and financial risk assessment.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including the preparation of financial statements, annual reports, and grant financial reports.

  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring adherence to accounting principles and standards.
  • Coordinate and facilitate annual audits, liaising with external auditors and managing audit processes.
  • Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with program managers and departments to develop budgets, track financial performance, and provide financial guidance.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.

As the ideal candidate, you will be qualified (ACA,ACCA,ACMA,CIPFA) however, candidates who are finalists / QBE will be considered. You will possess strong experience in leading a team preferebly in a charity setting however this is not essential and you will work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
