As part of a Cloud first strategy vision and on-going programme of work to reduce its on-premise footprint, the next phase is focused on UK data centres. The project will involve transforming workloads into a strategic Azure Cloud tenant and be responsible for physically vacating both data centres. The role therefore will require a highly motivated, experienced and knowledgeable Project Manager who is pragmatic and results-focussed who is adept at managing complex change delivery in a fast-paced and constantly changing business environment.
The Project Manager works closely with IT & Business Solutions colleagues in areas such as Enterprise and Solutions Architecture, Business Analysis, Systems Analysis, Development and Support. They also work closely with business colleagues across the business managing Senior Stakeholder expectations to ensure services are migrated with minimal downtime.
Main Responsibilities
Clearly identify scope of delivery to be completed with the relevant stakeholders, IT and 3rd party resources (Vendors / Systems Integrators).
Create clear and visible activity plans ensuring that resources with the right capabilities have been aligned to delivery and are able to be actively managed to plan.
Identify and where required escalate for resolution any resource constraints that present risk to ability to deliver to time/budget
Manage delivery to scope, time and budget ensuring controls are in place to proactively manage constraints, dependencies, risks, issues and change. Working with internal and 3rd party business and IT teams to ensure effective and collaborative achievement of common delivery objectives.
Identify behavioural, cultural and organisational change impacts resulting from Delivery Management and work with the relevant business / business change teams to identify how best to land change successfully using resources available.
Actively manage expectations of change across teams through provision of regular and clear updates regarding delivery progress ensuring that there is clarity and transparency across the team and the wider business where required w/r to communication planning.
Manage stakeholder groups to ensure effective and regular communication is in place to manage expectations and provide opportunity for feedback.
