Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Location: Isle of Wight based. (company will not select those looking to commute from Mainland, the company are prepared to pay for you to lodge or relocation package is available)
Hours: 40 per week or Part Time available, on the Isle from Mon-Thurs required

My Civil Engineering and Highway Maintenance client is currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join them on a Permanent basis at their site on the Isle of Wight! Due to the tricky location, the company are offering Full Time or Part Time hours, being based on the Isle Monday - Thursday, they will pay for your lodging on the Isle or assist with Relocation package.

As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor youll be will be required to understand commercial processes and appropriate authorisation levels and will work principally on compilation of priced bill of quantities from drawings, measurement and applications for the planned capital schemes works, up to £6m in value.
 
The company are willing to take on an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or an experienced Quantity Surveyor, offering formal training once nearing completing probation. You will need experience in the Highways/Civil engineering UK industry to be considered for the role.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:

  • Provide commercial and contractual guidance to the various delivery departments of the business
  • Compile monthly applications and the provision of monthly commercial progress reports
  • Assist with materials procurement for larger schemes
  • To produce priced schedules for instructed works
  • Support the development of annual delivery budgets
 
Key Experience and Qualifications required:
  • Experience working in the Highways Maintenance/Civils Construction industry (Essential)
  • BSc Quantity Surveying / RICS or HND (advantageous)
  • Experience working on NEC conditions of contract (essential)
  • Strong IT skills, specifically Excel
  • The ability to prepare logical and structured quantity schedules from drawings
