Role: HR Business Partner

Location: Home-based role with 2 days per month required in office for team collaboration (office near Croydon) – expenses covered + travel to sites if support required.

Salary: £40-50,000 (depending on experience) + enhanced benefits

** This role has varied responsibilities between talent acquisition and HR people support (e.g. TUPE, grievance management, general people support to colleagues) **

** Due to the nature of this role, a driving licence is required **

The Role:

As the HR Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in sourcing, attracting, and retaining top talent for our client. This role will support the multisite retail/procedures group in an adaptable position, providing support to the recruitment and people function.

You will build strong relationships with colleagues and site managers, understanding their staffing needs, in addition to providing HR support and guidance on employee relations, compliance, TUPE, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Head of Recruitment to implement recruitment strategies and attract high-calibre talent
  • Creating job vacancies, descriptions, and candidate specifications in consultation with hiring managers
  • Utilising various channels such as online platforms, networking, referrals, and other inventive methods to source potential candidates
  • Reviewing applications and aligning candidates with the specific requirements of the roles
  • Establishing partnerships with site managers to understand their staffing requirements
  • Conducting regular industry research to stay abreast of trends, salary benchmarks, and competitor analysis
  • Providing training and support to hiring managers on effective interviewing techniques and recruitment best practices
  • Offering continuous support and guidance to new employees during their onboarding phase, addressing any queries or challenges they may encounter
  • Providing HR support and guidance to employees and managers on a broad spectrum of HR-related issues, including performance management, employee relations, and compliance
  • Guiding and overseeing consultation processes with affected employees, unions, and employee representatives to ensure transparency throughout the process
  • Assisting in the assimilation of new employees from acquired sites into the existing organisational culture, policies, and procedures
  • Designing and delivering training programmes for managers on HR practices and procedures

About You:

  • Attainment of a sound educational background or professional qualification
  • Pursuance or possession of CIPD Level 5/7 accreditation, or actively working towards it
  • Demonstrated track record in HR and recruitment, with a preference for experience in the retail sector, though not obligatory
  • Robust understanding of employment laws and regulations
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in operating effectively within a dynamic work environment and engaging with cross-functional teams
