The Role:

In the Shift Manager role you'll report to the Production Manager and will be primarily responsible for effectively managing production departments to ensure that customer expectations are exceeded and internal KPIs are achieved in the 24/7 (three shift) environment.

Specific tasks include:

• The co-ordinate the utilisation of manpower and equipment
• Developing plans to ensure that there are adequate manning levels to achieve production targets and delivery dates
• Motivating workforce to achieve optimum levels of quality and efficiency
• Driving the adoption of the process control system (PCS)
• Carrying out performance reviews and disciplinary procedures in liaison with HR
• Ensuring adequate manning levels to achieve production targets and delivery dates

The standard working hours for this job are across a 3 shift rotation pattern (Monday - Friday).

The Candidate:

To be the right person for this Shift Manager role you will need direct experience of and have a proven track record of achievement in production management.

We also need you to have prior experience of managing operational and production teams and driving performance to achieve agreed KPIs.

It's important that you also have the following:

• Strong communication skills, able to build strong working relationships with colleagues
• A proven track record of achievement in production management
• A good understanding of manufacturing principles processes and techniques

You'll also need to be the following:

• Happy working a weekly rolling three shift rota (Monday -Friday)
• Big on quality, ensuring highest possible levels of customer satisfaction are achieved and maintained
• A leader, happy to coach, mentor and support all Team Leaders to optimise performance
• Driven to promote and deliver operational excellence and efficiency at all times

The Package:

The basic salary for the Shift Manager role is between £38,000 - £40,000 per annum. You can also earn significant overtime in this role.
