About the Role
My client is a leading sports management company in the F1/Motorsports arena, managing some of the biggest names in the industry. As part of their mission to enhance athletes' personal brands, they are seeking a dynamic and strategic Social Media Manager to lead the charge.
In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to build a new social media function from the ground up, working directly with high-profile athletes and managing their personal brands across various platforms. With a focus on motorsports, this is a unique chance to work with stars who are shaping the future of F1 and motorsports.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead & Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy, working with athletes and drivers to enhance their personal brands and increase engagement.
- Content Creation: Develop punchy, engaging, and emotive content that reflects the personalities and careers of my client's stars, distilling their life stories into compelling narratives.
- Brand Partnerships & Sponsorships: Work closely with partners (e.g., Tommy Hilfiger) to ensure sponsorships and merchandise are promoted authentically across social channels.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a social media team, including in-house and freelance staff, to manage various aspects of content, engagement, and analytics.
- High-Profile Accounts: Manage and grow social media accounts with large followings (200k+), including one client with a 5.2M following.
- In-House Social Media Function: Take full ownership of the company’s social media services, previously outsourced, and establish a dedicated in-house team.
About You
- Passion for Motorsports: A deep understanding and passion for F1/motorsports is essential.
- Proven Experience: Strong background in managing high-profile social media accounts, ideally within the sports sector, either agency-side or in-house with F1 teams or similar environments.
- Strategic Leader: Capable of devising and executing social media strategies, with a focus on increasing brand awareness, engagement, and partnerships.
- Hands-On Expertise: Comfortable creating content, managing paid social campaigns, and leading community management efforts.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate with multiple departments, including marketing, athlete management, and PR.
