We are pleased to be working with a leading IGaming (Online Casino) company and are now looking for a UK based MYSQL DBA to join the UK Team. The MYSQL DBA will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and tuning high-traffic, multiple database applications as well as migrating existing SQL Server databases.

As a Snr MYSQL DBA / Developer you will have the ability to understand the business in terms of how the data is structured, making valuable contributions to ensure that the databases are running in optimal and performance conditions. As a Senior MySQL developer/DBA you should be comfortable working with a variety of implementations and be used to working within a high availability business that operates on a 24/7/365 schedule. You'll have a Solid understanding of architectural design choices (Heap, MyISAM, INNO DB etc)

As an experienced developer/dba you will have worked on a variety of highly available applications and have experience collaborating with engineering teams around the world to design and maintain ground-breaking features.
You will have the experience and knowledge to take part in technology decisions and architecture discussions, advocating for engineering and database best practices across the teams you work with, acting as a mentor to junior members.

➢ Experience working as a MySQL DBA and developer
➢ Experience working with and managing database server configurations, log, files, binary logs etc along with the ability to profile and optimize server resource usage where necessary
➢ Good experience in developing, managing, and testing back-up and recovery plans.
➢ Experience of performance tuning, optimisation, execution plans and indexes along with best practices for database design etc.
➢ Experience with migrating SQL Server databases to MySQL
➢ Strong experience writing performant SQL, stored procedures etc
➢ Experience of performing upgrades to the core MySQL architecture when appropriate
➢ Solid experience working with source control platforms and tools such as GIT.
➢ Experience with logging and analysis tools (Elasticsearch, Rollbar Sentry)
