Manufacturing IT Project Manager

Position Overview:

In this role, as Manufacturing IT Project Manager, you’ll be working on cutting edge industry 4.0 projects. Our vision is to advance the way manufacturing world works. The position is all about revolutionizing the way companies build products by leveraging cutting edge software, robotics, and building the software code that brings manufacturing into an internet connected world.

As a Project manager, you will be the glue that ensure our project(s) succeed. Your job will focus on the five key processes groups of Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and closing the project. Ideal project managers are experienced in IT and actively contribute to discussions by providing their experience as input to the project to drive success. You work closely with upper management to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule and budget. As a project manager, some tasks you will do is build the project plan, build the project schedule, create requirements document, identifying risks, maintain issues lists, managing stake holders, and etc.

More than anything in this position, you will join a team determined to advance the manufacturing world. You will work with a team who is helping companies manufacture in amazing new ways and see how the work we do change their business. We focus on getting the job done and this position is all about that.

Primary Qualifications:

  • Ability to execute project Management fundamentals (Project plans, RAID log, scope, communication plan, schedules, work break down structure, financial tracking, project monitor and controlling, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate the status of the project regularly to many stakeholders.
  • Ability to track activities against a schedule and answer Who, What, When, Why, How
  • Ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels.
  • A willingness to see things through to the end.
  • A team player who is comfortable working with other professionals.
  • Ability to influence people at all levels.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to take on project ownership and accountability.
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Knowledge/familiarity with Waterfall, Agile, SCRUM, Kanban or similar iterative approaches

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Manufacturing IT Domain Knowledge (How the Manufacturing Floor works): MES, Material Logistics JIS/JIT, Quality Inspection Plans, SPC, Routings, BOMS, PLM, etc.
  2. Manufacturing Controls Domain Knowledge ( SCADA, HMI, PLC, OEE, Historian)
  3. Industry Knowledge: Automotive, Complex Assembly, Job Shops, Press Shop, Body Shop, Electronics, SMT, AOI, Pick and Place, THT, etc.
  4. Driving implementation and commissioning of IT solutions for manufacturing (preferred: MES/Digital Manufacturing or PLM solutions)
  5. IT knowledge (Know what makes software tick)
  6. Optional: Knowing the concepts of programming and common source of issues in custom code
  7. Optional: (PMP Certification)

Position Requirements:

  • Must be legally able to work in the United States
  • Suggested 5 years of experience in engineering and/or manufacturing processes for design and development of products.
  • Proficient with Standard MS Office applications, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Technology
  • OR Certification in Project Management from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • OR International Project Management Association (IPMA)
  • OR equivalent international body on a level suitable for this role.
  • And IT experience managing projects.
