Senior Enterprise Architect

The Client:

Global Technology and Engineering Consultancy with over 1000 Employees and some genuinely fascinating projects of work across Defence, Energy, Space, Rail and Government (amongst others). Known as a trusted and caring employer, they always deliver success on their projects. This role is a brand-new role in a brand-new division working within Defence.

Recent Projects include:

• Designing a digital twin of a particle accelerator for implementation with a focus on secure design. (Azure)
• Build data analysis and infrastructure for ingestion and analytics of ship tracking data in AWS using serverless technologies (S3, Lambda, C#, Terraform).
• Helping an energy customer to maintain critical infrastructure by developing software that models and monitors state and damage to complex systems using ASP.NET, Entity Framework, Postgres and C#.
• Enabling the energy industry to demonstrate data quality and providence via a blockchain.

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for creating architectural models and frameworks, and designing Defence solutions that are scalable, secure, and aligned with industry best practices. You will also research and analyse emerging technologies and evaluate their potential to improve overall performance and efficiency, generating time-sensitive and assured Intelligence outputs.

Responsibilities include:

• Support the Defence Intelligence enterprise architecture vision, strategy and roadmaps from a business, platform, data, and applications perspective.
• Understand the multi-domain ecosystem and its interdependencies, including reference architectures, highly classified platforms and international gateways.
• Collaborate and consult with multi-disciplinary intelligence teams to ensure workflows supporting the exploitation and sharing of data, information and knowledge are aligned with the wider enterprise architecture strategy.
• Evaluate the impact of emerging technologies, assess their potential to augment/enhance the Intelligence cycle and recommend changes in technology direction.
• Lead the development and implementation of enterprise architecture frameworks and align with the Defence Digital Backbone.
• Consider the impact of a single Intelligence Environment to the broader community, ensuring the core architecture can interface with all information data feeds.
• Create and maintain architecture models following architectural principles, Defence policies, and pre-defined standards.

YOU

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Proven demonstrable experience in enterprise architecture with knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, NAF).
• Strong technical skills in infrastructure, networking, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity.
• Ability to effectively network within Defence Intelligence
• Proven leadership and man- management experience
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with civilian and military stakeholders

Desirable

• A practitioner-level understanding of design, technology, and data principles.
• You can effectively articulate how governance works and what governance is required.
• Understanding of Defence Intelligence context and the ability to communicate to achieve strategic goals
• Familiar with the Defence 2030 vision and its applicability to Defence Intelligence
