The Role:

In the role, you will encounter a variety of challenges, sometimes requiring a high-level view of capability and sometimes in the detail of an application of technology. You will work closely with their teams and clients:

Specifically:

• defining research tasks to achieve research goals.
• delivering research and developing prototypes
• coordinating and overseeing research delivery by subcontractors.

• You will be an experienced self-starter, with a technical background in a relevant area, such as knowledge graphs, ontology development, machine learning, natural language processing, data science, intelligence fusion, and/or command and control.
• You will pride yourself on working closely with their teams, their clients, and their suppliers to deliver the best outcomes.
• You will demonstrate, or develop, commercial acumen and have an aptitude to provide consultancy services to the wider client base.

The role can be delivered from any of our client’s various UK office locations working flexibly within virtual teams with a mix of working from home, working in the offices, and meetings at their client sites. Successful applicants can expect to have some need to support client meetings and projects, as and when these occur, at MoD sites in Wiltshire/Hampshire/Dorset.

You:

The successful applicant will meet the following:

• Strong academic qualifications with a degree/PhD in a mathematically orientated subject.
• Have experience in the development of relevant techniques or technology in the Defence sector.
• Accurate written and verbal communication, and able to adapt to a wide range of audiences including customers and internal stakeholders.
• Able to build trusted relationships and rapidly establish a reputation for enthusiasm, delivery, and reliability.
• Confident in working autonomously and taking ownership of delivery.
• Keen to learn and work flexibly outside of your primary area of expertise.

It is to your advantage if you meet some or all:

• Competent in managing a portfolio of research activities.
• Experienced in the planning and management of projects.
• Experience in managing subcontracted work.
• Knowledge of state-of-the-art information management approaches and system
