The business has enjoyed great success and growth over the last 5 years. They have consistently grown the business year on year and now have over 300 employees located across Cambridge, London, Atlanta, Singapore and Tel Aviv.

As part of this continued growth, they are now looking to build a brand-new Application Security team within their Engineering function in Cambridge.

The Lead Application Security Engineer will be the first member of this team, and will be responsible for recruiting, growing and developing a team of Application Security Specialists.

The team will be responsible for embedding application security practices and a security-focused mindset across the engineering function, ensuring that security is prioritised throughout the development and management of the platform.

The key priorities for the Lead Application Security Engineer will be to:

Work with the Release Engineering team to triage and respond to incoming security issues from customers and penetration testing results.

Collaborate with the Engineering teams on new feature development to ensure that application security is being considered right from concept design stages and throughout the software development lifecycle.

Liaise with the Training team to develop policies, procedures and training programmes to educate the engineering function on security best practice.

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience of working within Application Security and collaborating with Engineering teams across the software development lifecycle.

Has extensive knowledge of common security vulnerabilities and their consequences to the business.

Has experience of managing a team, mentoring other team members, or a desire to step up into a managerial role.

Is pragmatic, enthusiastic and happy to wear many different hats as part of a varied and evolving role.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about Application Security to impact real change within a growing business. Your suggestions and strategies will be implemented quickly across a global business, and you will be securing a platform which protects over 500 million consumers from risk.

Their motto is that they “hire smart people, give them the tools to be successful, then get out of their way”.

As part of this role, you will be liaising with a lot of bright and interesting people across multiple business functions and will have the opportunity to learn a great deal in a short space of time. You will have exposure to cutting edge Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence technology and will be working at the heart of behavioural analytics and financial crime.
