Team Leader - Residential Children's Home - Ilford

Are you an experienced Senior RCW or Team Leader looking for a career progression?

I’m currently supporting a leading Residential Children’s organisation to recruit Team Leaders for their home in Ilford.

About the Home

This is a beautiful 3-bed home for 7-12 year olds who have experienced early childhood trauma.

The home opened at the beginning of 2021 and has a settled team in place with an incredibly supportive, child-focused RM. The home follows an ACE’s therapeutic approach to provide the children living there the best chance of positive outcomes.

About the Company

Set up over 25 years ago by Social Workers (who were also Foster Carers), this not-for-profit started out as an Independent Fostering Agency before slowly opening 9 homes & 3 schools.

Their trauma-informed, therapeutic approach is the beating heart of this organisation and is the reason they have invested so heavily in a large in-house Therapy & Assessment Team that works closely with the organisation as a whole.

They also offer excellent training & development, which is why they hold the Investors in People ‘Gold Award’ and were last year they were shortlisted for 'Employer of the Year'.

About You

It is essential that you are currently working in a Residential Children’s home as either a Senior RCW who has lead shifts, a Shift Leader or Team Leader.

You will understand the challenges of working with vulnerable young people and have the experience of helping your team to offer the best possible care to the children in your home.

You will also need the following in order to be considered:

  • At least a Level 3 in Residential Childcare, or equivalent
  • Very recent experience of leading shifts in a residential children’s home
  • A passion for delivering child-focussed care to children & young people
  • The ability to work shifts and nights
  • A driver’s licence is preferred, but essential

You will be working 39 hours a week and be able to commit to 2-3 sleep-ins per week – which comes with a sleep-in allowance
