Team Leader - Residential Children's Home - Medway, Kent

Are you working in a Residential Children’s Home and looking for the next step in your career?

I’m currently supporting a fantastic organisation to recruit Team Leaders for their new home in Medway, Kent.

About the Home

This is a fantastic 4-bed home for 12-16 year olds who have experienced severe childhood trauma.

The home is due to open in October and will be phenomenal place for the young people who will live there due to the level of support, the therapeutic approach of the company and of course having you working there!

About the Company

Set up over 25 years ago by Social Workers (who were also Foster Carers), this not-for-profit started out as an Independent Fostering Agency before slowly opening 9 homes & 3 schools.

Their trauma-informed, therapeutic approach is the beating heart of this organisation and is the reason they have invested so heavily in a large in-house Therapy & Assessment Team that works closely with the organisation as a whole.

They also offer excellent training & development, which is why they hold the Investors in People ‘Gold Award’ and were last year they were shortlisted for 'Employer of the Year'.

About You

It is essential that you are currently working in a Residential Children’s home as either a Senior RCW who has lead shifts, a Shift Leader or Team Leader.

You will understand the challenges of working with vulnerable young people and have the experience of helping your team to offer the best possible care to the children in your home.

You will also need the following in order to be considered:

  • At least a Level 3 in Residential Childcare, or equivalent
  • Very recent experience of leading shifts in a residential children’s home
  • A passion for delivering child-focussed care to children & young people
  • The ability to work shifts and nights
  • A driver’s licence is preferred, but essential

You will be working 39 hours a week and be able to commit to 2-3 sleep-ins per week – which comes with a sleep-in allowance
