Product Manager (Warehouse Robotics)

Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with a leading supplier of various racking and storage solutions looking to recruit a new Product Manager to lead the development of a specialist warehouse robotics products. The role is a hybrid position with a national focus and will require either an individual both with the mechanical and technical ability to understand the product range and the interpersonal skill to ensure a strong presence is created across the UK or equally a robotics/automation professional with strong commercial ability. With excellent monetary and career prospects, this is a great opportunity for a mechanically minded individual or commercial professional from the Automation & Robotics sphere seeking a new opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Support the racking sales team with warehouse robotics enquiries across the UK
  • Create and implement the overall automation & robotics strategy by identifying small and medium level projects and scope for warehouse AMR picking solutions & related products
  • Assist the Managing Director with ideas on how to strategize and implement a plan for automation
  • Generate new business by visiting customers on site, conducting site surveys and providing customer quotes for automation
  • Conduct various product training and be the go to person in relation to warehouse automation & robotics within the company

Requirements

Although knowledge or experience in warehouse automation or robotics is preferable, this is by no means essential. Individuals with qualifications and/or a background in mechanical or electronics engineering or similar is a must and it is highly preferable to have a strong understanding of a warehouse/logistics environment where these products exist. Ultimately, the individual for this position will need to be a strong personality with a degree of versatility able to understand that the position requires both technical capabilities & interpersonal skills. The successful candidate has a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of this project and expand it further.

The Company

Our client are a national provider of various types of racking and storage systems in addition to office interior and refurbishment services. Having been established for a number of years they have a strong setup and footing in the racking market across Northern England. Their range of racking products include pallet, narrow aisle, push back and wide aisle in addition to shelving. Due to continued growth, they're looking to take a number of new staff on.
